Former Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were targeted in a covert social media campaign promoting Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi in a plot by an artificial intelligence firm.

The campaign, allegedly linked to Anthropic, a global AI firm, aimed to divide opposition forces ahead of Kenya's 2027 General Election.

A threat intelligence report has revealed the operation, which used AI-driven influence tactics to sway public opinion.
