Brooklyn Nonprofit Founder Lamar Shambley Empowers Over 1,000 Youth Through International Travel Opportunities
Lamar Shambley, Founder and Executive Director of Teens of Color Abroad (TOCA), a Brooklyn-based nonprofit, has been instrumental in providing opportunities for Black and other students of color to travel overseas. Since its inception in 2018, TOCA has helped over 1,000 young people, awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships, and sponsored passports for more than 50 students. The organization focuses on language immersion and cultural exchange, aiming to empower youth through international experiences.
